Motion 101
If you're here, you care about making great creative. But if you're new to Motion, you might be wondering:
What does this platform actually do and where do I start?
We got you. 👋
The video above is your tour of the platform covering the questions our customers are answering day-to-day.

Reports: your creative command center
This is where it all started for us. Motion reports pair the metrics your media buyer cares about with a visual-first experience built for creative teams.
The easiest way in is the report template library. Templates are organized around the big questions performance creative teams are asking: finding winners, finding problems, understanding performance. No setup required.
Quick example: A Top Hooks report. Hooks are everything happening in the first three seconds of your ad and are the moment that determines whether someone keeps watching or keeps scrolling. This report shows you what's grabbing attention, what isn't, and can be filtered down based on campaign name, spend threshold, or any other factor to find exactly what you need.
Zooming out with comparative reports
Comparative reports are where things get really interesting. Instead of evaluating individual ads, you're looking at creative themes across your entire ad account— which personas are responding, which influencer is our top performer, and which angles are driving the most efficient spend overall.
Motion’s AI Tagging automatically labels the elements of every ad with things like hook tactic, messaging angle, and intended audience. Comparative reports use those tags to surface patterns you'd never catch looking at one ad at a time. It's the difference between asking "is this ad working right now?" and asking "what angle performed best for us in Q1?"
Inspo: Pinterest for ads
Your creative research shouldn't live in a group chat or a forgotten Slack thread That's what Inspo is for.
Inspo is your dedicated space for ad inspiration and competitor research. You can explore a massive library of ads by industry, visual style, product, and how long they've been running. Plus, you can spy on competitors and get breakdowns of exactly what they’ve been testing lately.
Save anything that catches your eye, organize it into boards, and share that across your team. It’s the healthier version of your TikTok feed.
Runneth: your AI creative strategist
Meet Runneth. Instead of decoding data and manually organizing yourself, you just ask:
- Analyze this report for me
- Find me 10 new hook ideas from niche brands
- Refine that concept and turn it into a brief for my video team
- And any other creative strategy question you can think of
Runneth can give you a plain-English breakdown of what’s happening in your ad account, find new opportunities, explore more concepts, and get to a creative brief way faster than doing it manually.
We’re continually blown away by what it can do, and we think you will be, too.
