Title card with a purple background and a large, soft, circular shape. White text reads "GET STARTED WITH MOTION".
Speaker 1: Whether you're an agency and you have to share feedback with your client on what's working well and what's not working, or you're a brand and you're wanting to share information with your team, we have a bunch of great tools within Motion that's going to save you a ton of time when it comes to reporting and sharing insights outside of Motion. So I'm going to walk you through those today.
The speaker appears in a small circle at the bottom left of the screen. The main screen shows the Motion app dashboard. The report is titled "Top Performers". It shows a grid of ad creative cards with metrics like "Spend" and "ROAS" below each one.
Speaker 1: One of the first options I wanted to point out within Motion is our ability to copy information. We have the option to copy cards, to copy charts, and paste that directly outside of Motion. So say you're creating a slide deck to showcase with your client what's working well. I'm going to head into my top performers report, and maybe I want to pull in these ads specifically to a slide deck. I can easily right click, click copy card.
The speaker right-clicks on an ad creative card. A context menu appears with options "Copy card" and "Copy creative". She clicks "Copy card".
Speaker 1: Wait until that little check mark appears here.
A small notification appears at the bottom of the screen: "Card copied to clipboard" with a green checkmark.
Speaker 1: And then you could easily paste that directly into any slide deck.
The screen switches to a Google Slides presentation. The slide is titled "This Weeks Top Performers - Video". The speaker pastes the copied card onto the slide. The card shows the creative image, the ad name, "Spend: $8,880.29", "ROAS: 3.71", and a note "Exported from motionapp.com".
Speaker 1: Now you'll just need to readjust the sizing to fit, and you should be all set. So super easy to copy and paste directly into slides and grab all that information. You can do this as well on any one of these stages. So say I want to pull in a line chart view or maybe the bar chart view.
The speaker returns to the Motion dashboard and clicks on the bar chart icon at the top right of the report view. The view changes to a bar chart comparing "Spend" and "ROAS" for different creatives.
Speaker 1: I can easily click copy chart again. Wait for that little check mark to appear.
The speaker right-clicks on the bar chart and selects "Copy chart". A notification appears at the bottom: "Chart image copied to clipboard" with a green checkmark.
Speaker 1: And let's just head down to this next one. And I could paste that directly in, resize, and you're all set.
The speaker switches back to the Google Slides presentation, goes to a new slide titled "This Weeks Top Performers - Static", and pastes the copied bar chart. She resizes it to fit the slide.
Speaker 1: So super easy to bring any bits of information in terms of any one of the charts or any one of the views directly into slide decks or any other platform that allows that copy and paste feature.
Now, one additional step you can take too is actually pulling video content directly into slides. So we know how much of a pain it can be to try and play video ads directly in slides. We now have the ability to grab a GIF and put that directly into a slide as well. So, what I'm going to do, I'm just going to go to this view because it's easier to see.
The speaker returns to the Motion dashboard, switching back to the grid view of creatives.
Speaker 1: I'm going to find any one of the video ads that I need, and I'm going to select this button here, and you're going to see download as GIF.
The speaker hovers over a video creative. A preview of the video plays. She clicks a download icon, and a menu appears with "Download video" and "Download as GIF". She clicks "Download as GIF".
Speaker 1: Wait until that's done downloading. You'll see it down here. And once it is, you can essentially just drag it in from your downloads folder directly into a slide. So I'll show you how we can do that.
A progress bar appears at the bottom of the video preview, reading "Generating GIF...".
Speaker 1: So what I'll typically do is add the GIF into the slide.
The screen switches back to the Google Slides presentation. A GIF of the video ad is now playing on the slide, layered on top of the previously pasted metric card.
Speaker 1: I'll also grab the metrics below by doing the copy card. Just layer this over top to showcase that a bit better. That way you're pulling in the metrics related to the GIF and then also showing the video playing as well. Hopefully in your case you have a nice square feed one you can grab. Um, in our demo account we didn't, so I just cropped it out to make it look a little bit better. Um, but as you can see, it makes it a really nice visual to be able to actually see the playable video with said metrics you've attached to it.
Now, this slide deck specifically that I'm on is actually a template we're going to offer to anybody. So you're going to have a link to that below. But essentially it's going to give you some ideas of the types of content you might want to report out on, whether it's showcasing your top landing pages, your top copy, top performers.
The speaker scrolls through the Google Slides template, showing slides titled "Top Landing Pages" and "Top Copy", which have placeholders for pasted cards from Motion.
Speaker 1: We have lots of fun things you can do within Motion. And just to showcase, for example, top copy or top landing page, like I mentioned, you can essentially right click and click copy card on any one of these reports. So even if I'm on the bar chart, I can right click and click copy card. But even if I swap to group by landing page, for example, I can grab all of these cards as well too.
The speaker returns to the Motion dashboard. She clicks the "Group by" dropdown and selects "Landing Page". The view updates to show cards with screenshots of different landing pages and their performance metrics.
Speaker 1: So lots of information you can essentially grab to be able to paste into slides.
Now, if you're not creating slide decks, but you still want to be able to share feedback with the team or with clients, there is some other options in Motion too. We have the share report option up in the top right hand corner, and that's going to generate a URL you can send to anybody.
The speaker clicks the "Share report" button in the top right corner of the Motion dashboard. A pop-up titled "Share as Snapshot" appears with a text box to "Add some commentary to the Snapshot".
Speaker 1: So it's shareable with anyone within Motion or outside of Motion. Now, let's say I wanted to share what some of our top landing pages are in this case. I could say, here are our top performing landing pages.
The speaker types "Here are our top performing landing pages" into the commentary box.
Speaker 1: I can create that URL, click copy URL.
The speaker clicks the "Copy link" button. The pop-up disappears and a notification appears at the top of the screen with the snapshot link and a "Copy link" button.
Speaker 1: And you'll essentially have a version of the report of what you see in Motion, but this one, like I said, is shareable with anyone.
The screen switches to a new browser tab showing the shared snapshot report. It displays the landing page cards and the speaker's comment at the top. A "Comments" panel is on the right side.
Speaker 1: Anytime there's video assets as well, they can click in to preview the video or an image, preview it as well too. So really great with being able to share feedback so that people can actually watch and preview the full entire content when needed. And there's a comment section as well, so you can have discussions back and forth with teammates or whoever it might be. So you can easily at tag anyone you need to leave a comment, and they'll be tagged in that.
In the "Comments" panel, the speaker types "@" and a list of users appears. She selects one.
Speaker 1: So think of these shareable reports in a few different scenarios or contexts. You can use it to share top performers or bottom performers, ads you want to scale, ads you want to pause, whatever it might be. So just sharing essentially a quick glance at what needs to be done, sharing it within the team or outside of the team. Or if it's a creative team, maybe you want to share different feedback on ads you want to iterate on. So maybe you have an ad that you're using for inspiration and an ad you want to iterate on. You could narrow those two down into a report and easily share that with your team of saying, hey, let's change the hook on video two to something be something similar to video one. So again, a way of concising down that feedback to make it super easy to know what next steps to take. Aside from these two options with snapshots, I've also seen a lot of clients use it to memorialize learnings. So say for example, we're running two different promo styles and we notice that promo style one is working better than promo style two, create a snapshot report, and that way you're going to be able to keep that learning and look back on that when needed when you're running future promos as an example. The nice thing with anytime you make a snapshot report as well is you will be able to see all those past snapshots by heading to this section here from the top left hand menu.
The speaker navigates back to the main Motion dashboard, clicks the workspace name in the top left, and selects "Snapshots" from the dropdown menu.
Speaker 1: So all your old links are going to show here. So you'll be able to access it at any time.
The screen shows the "Snapshots" page, which is a table listing all previously created snapshots with columns for Name, Description, Date Taken, Type of Chart, etc.
Speaker 1: So again, lots of fun ways of being able to share information outside of Motion, whether it's being able to copy information and paste it into a slide deck or just sharing links with anybody outside of the organization. Motion has you covered in any of the different ways that you would want to be sharing.
